EDUCATION

Learning that changes

the way you practice.

Continuing education, workshops, courses, and professional learning for therapists and thoughtful seekers who want more than information alone.

Education should do more than give you information.

The best learning changes what you notice. It gives language to something you have sensed but could not yet name. It offers a framework you can actually use—and, sometimes, shifts the person doing the work.

My courses and workshops bring together clinical knowledge, somatic awareness, contemplative practice, relational and systems thinking, and more than twenty-five years of work with people in crisis, healing, growth, and change. Much of my teaching lives at the intersection of psychology, embodiment, and spirituality—without requiring any particular spiritual belief. When spirituality is meaningful to you, there is room here for questions of meaning, consciousness, and our deeper human experience. When it isn’t, the work stands firmly on its clinical and experiential ground.

My approach to teaching.

CLINICALLY GROUNDED

Research, theory, ethics, and real-world clinical experience remain central to the work.

EMBODIED

We learn through more than cognition. Attention includes sensation, nervous system responses, fascia constriction, relationships, and lived experience.

INTEGRATIVE

Rather than teaching one method as the answer, we explore perspectives that can deepen the work you already do.

CONTEMPLATIVE

Mindfulness, compassion, presence, nonduality, spirituality, and inquiry create room for a different kind of knowing.

PRACTICAL

Ideas become useful when they can leave the classroom and enter the therapy room—and ordinary life.

UPCOMING LEARNING

The Anatomy of Compassion
$155.00

This is a 5-hour continuing education course approved through the LPCA-GA. It is a full participation course, live, via Zoom, beginning at 9:30am, Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 and ending at 3:45pm with optional Q&A until 4:00pm ET. Full schedule will be emailed upon registration.

Have you ever felt you have become infected by the suffering of others? Have you ever been told that you care too much? Or too little? Do you ever feel that the boundaries of your professionalism are permeable, leaving you feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, and burned out as you struggle to care for those around you?

What if the problem is not that you care too much or too little but that you’ve been going about compassion all wrong?

Influenced by a life spent in service to others, Jennifer has uncovered that compassion is something we do not need to train in. Compassion is composed of multiple non-compassion elements, none of which require us to sacrifice our own well-being or the well-being of those we love and support. Those who are most driven by the motivation to alleviate suffering—who have even built careers around it as healthcare professionals, educators, social workers, therapists, and more—are confronted daily by obstacles to acting with compassion.

The biggest obstacle is right in front of you, and Jennifer will ask you to give up who you think you are in order to see it. This is a full participation (experience over education) workshop that takes us on a fascinating body-mind-soul journey that aims to pique more interest in making sense of and understanding how we have organized ourselves around suffering. Avoiding the obstacles of compassion separates the average therapist from those achieving clinical excellence.

Why This Facilitator Training?

In a world that often focuses on hiding imperfections, Kintsugi teaches us to honor them. This philosophy—repairing broken pottery with gold to create something even more beautiful—has profound applications for the work you do every day:

For Therapists: Help clients reframe trauma as a source of strength and healing.

For Educators: Teach students to embrace failure and resilience as part of their learning journey.

For Leaders: Foster forgiveness, collaboration, and growth in your teams and organizations.

This training is not just a metaphor. It’s a hands-on, practical experience designed to give you actionable strategies and creative tools that you can use immediately in your practice or classroom.

Certified Kintsugi Facilitator Training
A proprietary facilitator certification for therapists, educators, coaches, and group leaders who want to bring the symbolic practice of Kintsugi into workshops, groups, retreats, and educational settings.

This is a one-day, in-person, hands-on experiential training.

If you are interested in hosting a kintsugi-inspired workshop at your place of employment, therapeutic community, yoga studio, or in a private residence, this facilitator training will ensure you are equipped to bring this healing art to any population you serve.

In Japan, broken objects are often repaired with GOLD. The flaw is seen as a unique piece of the object’s history, which adds to its beauty. When we feel broken, we can use the art of Kintsugi to HEAL.

Continuing education for clinicians

Many Be Here Now Mindfulness professional trainings offer continuing education credit for eligible mental health professionals. CE availability, approval information, learning objectives, instructional level, and registration details are listed with each individual offering.

I'm less interested in teaching people what to think than helping them notice more.

Good education gives us concepts. Great education changes perception.

It helps us recognize what is happening in a client, a relationship, a body, a clinical system—or ourselves—with greater clarity. From there we have more choice.

That is the kind of learning I am interested in creating.

What Participants Are Saying

“Jennifer is the perfect combination of Knowledge and Somatic Experience—heart & mind complemented.”

I am grateful for the hours spent with Jen's leadership, wisdom and loving kindness. I am still receiving the gifts of our shared time together--days after the workshop, I am still being taught by it and learning lessons from it. If there is a Part II coming...I want to attend that too! Thank you for a life affirming and life changing workshop.

“This workshop got to the heart of trauma work. It’s about taking your (perceived) brokenness and putting it all back together in a different, beautiful way. What happens to us in our lives changes us, and it contributes to our beauty. Kintsugi is definitely a “beauty to ashes” exercise that instills hope, tenacity, and perseverance when you’re on a personal journey of growth and/or recovery. Jennifer is an excellent instructor and her passion for bringing people into a healthy place with their traumas shows in a powerful way.”

“I loved the workshop! It was moving and educational. I am trying to practice mindfulness in my daily life. It brought out emotions I did not realize I was harboring. It was a unique and life changing experience. Thank you!”

“A day with Jennifer is always a day well spent. The material is profound and yet Jennifer doesn’t make it intimidating. It is accessible, useful and applicable for everyday life. I could have spent more time but feel I got so much out of it. Thank you, Jen!”
